is PREGUNT@? |

PPREGUNT@ is the Information Service of the UAB Libraries.
It aims at providing users with personalized attention to solve any
doubt related to the operation and use of the library services and resources,
as well as helping users in their search for information for their studies
or research. |

Who
can use this service? |
 |
Any person can use this service, members of the UAB university
community being preferential users. |

From
where can an enquiry be made? |
 |
You can formulate the enquiry 24 hours a day and 7 days
a week from any computer connected to internet by filling the form that
can be found on any page of the UAB Libraries Service site and other
pages of the UAB web sites by clicking on the identifier:

How does the service work? |
 |
You can make an enquiry through the form.
The first time that you use the service, you will automatically
receive an email with a link and a password to access your personal
account.
Afterwards, every time you use the service, you will receive an email
informing you that the Library has received your enquiry and that it
will be answered as soon as possible.

Which type of questions can be asked? |
 |
The service aims at solving any doubt that you may have
in relation to:
• General information on the operation of the
libraries: opening hours, buildings, services, access regulation...
• Loan and interlibrary loan
• Access to materials and special collections: reservation
collection, PhD theses, map library, newspaper library...
• Digital library and access from outside the campus:
databases, digital repositories, connections and access to the digital
resources, etc.
• Searching the catalogue: operation, availability
of the collection...
• Basic bibliographical information and specialized
enquiries
• Users’ training courses: introduction sessions
and information skills training courses
• Acquisitions and donations
You can also make suggestions
or give us your opinion on the UAB Libraries and its services. Your
contributions help us to improve the service. |

How
and when does the library respond? |
 |
The librarian staff will answer your enquiries punctually
and you will receive an answer through your email box in a 48 working
hour maximum delay. During the holiday period, Christmas, Easter and
August, the delays could be slightly longer. Check
the libraries opening hours.
A small survey is included with the answer in order to
measure your degree of satisfaction with our service. |

User
Accounts
|

As users of the Service of Information, you will have
access to all your enquiries through a user account, of personal use,
where you will be able to keep track of all your enquiries, send comments
or new enquiries. Furthermore, you will have access to a data base that
registers the enquiries carried out by other users of the UAB as well
as of other libraries from all over the world.

How can I obtain a user account?
The first time you will use the Libraries Information
Service, you will automatically receive an email with a link and
a password to access your personal account.

How can I access your user account?
You can access your personal account from:
1. The link that you will find in the email each time that you receive
an answer to an enquiry.
2. The section Revise
my Questions and Answers
It is necessary to introduce your email address, password
and select a language. If you want to go to a specific question
you will also have to introduce the enquiry ID that you will receive
through email.
The user name to access this space will always be
the email address given in the enquiry form. Please remember that
the program will create two personal accounts if you use both endings
uab.es or the uab.cat.
If you forget your password you can get a new one anytime or change
it if you wish.

User account options
Once you have accessed your personal account you
will be able to:
• Consult your enquiries record
• Send the librarian a comment about a consultation that has already
been answered.
• Manage and classify your consultations in:
• Change your password
• Search the Knowledge Data Base
The Knowledge Data Base is a global data base that contains a selection
of enquiries and answers made by users of virtual services of reference
from all over the world. It allows you to consult previous enquiries
made by other users that have been stored by the librarians in this
data base. You can make basic searches by key word or advanced searches
with the possibility to limit by language and by dates.
